That is what they used to call David Clarkson and his younger brother Doug when the two brothers were growing up and running around the house in matching hockey jerseys. David idolized Wendel Clark, while Doug was more a Doug Gilmour fan. But both brothers loved the Toronto Maple Leafs equally because, well, that was what you did if you grew up in Etobicoke.
Their grandfather loved the Leafs. Their father loved the Leafs. And like most kids in their school, they dreamed of one day playing for the Leafs.
So when Doug got a call from his brother in the first week of July and found out that David had decided to sign a seven-year contract worth US$36.75-million with Toronto, it was as if they were kids again.
